In March 2025, the Junior High School Division of the east campus launched the 'Mathematics Culture Festival' event. In order to welcome the grand feast of mathematics, the Junior High School Division organized a blackboard newspaper activity with the theme of 'Hello, Mathematics', which attracted the attention of a great many teachers and students and sparked a craze for mathematics on campus.
To start with, during the grand event, all classes responded positively. Also, the students fully exerted their imagination and teamwork spirit, who meticulously designed the blackboard newspapers around themes such as the history of mathematics, interesting knowledge about mathematics and its applications. Furthermore, some classes presented the proof process of the Pythagorean Theorem with exquisite patterns, while others shared incredible mathematical anecdotes to let everyone know about the legendary experiences of mathematicians. Therefore, the vivid and colorful pictures as well as the lively and amazing contents presented the originally abstract mathematical knowledge in an intuitive and vivid way, which attracted students to stop, watch, and discuss one after another.
Additionally, not only did this blackboard newspaper activity provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, but also enabled them to have a deeper understanding of mathematical culture and feel the charm of mathematics during the process of collecting materials and designing layouts. On the other hand, the teachers of the mathematics group hoped that this innovative learning approach could enhance students' enthusiasm for learning mathematics, break the stereotyped impression of mathematics in students' minds, and stimulate their interest in mathematics.
In a nutshell, it is believed that in the future study, students will devote themselves to the exploration of mathematical knowledge with even greater enthusiasm.
